Meet our Executive Director ~ Crystal Hamilton
My name is Crystal Hamilton, the Executive Director at Parkhaven Assisted Living and Memory Care in Manhattan, Montana.
I grew up in small town in Southeast New Mexico where summers are scorchers and tumbleweeds should be the native plant. I married my high school sweetheart right after graduation and we were blessed with 4 amazing kids.
I started my life path into elder care at the age of 19 when I began caring for a sweet little lady with dementia. We spent our evenings on her couch relieving her youth on the ferry boat crossing New York Harbour. Those evenings instilled a deep passion for being in service to those traveling through their dementia journey and how we as caregivers truly make a difference.
From 1997- 2006 I worked as a in home caregiver and receptionist at an assisted living in New Mexico with a couple of years off to raise and home school our kiddos. In 2006 we had an opportunity to move to Montana, and we jumped at the chance to finish raising our kids here surrounded by the beautiful outdoors and wonderful community. In 2008 I was offered the opportunity to become the assistant administrator at a memory care community here in the valley. During those 5 years there I earned my Executive Directors license specializing in Assisted Living, continued my education on Alzheimer’s and Dementia, Co-organized the Bozeman Walk to End Alzheimer’s, represented the state of Montana Alzheimer’s Association in Atlanta and continued to care for those living with dementia and cognitive impairment.
In 2013 I was offered to be a part of the team at Parkhaven as the Marketing Director. That position allowed me to spend time with new families and incoming residents, dedicate time to education focusing on the benefits of assisted living for families and residents and spending time with our senior population out in the Gallatin Valley.
In 2019 many changes were happening at Parkhaven. We opened our new dedicated Memory Care, Reflections, and I was honored to be offered the position as Executive Director. I strive daily to continue learning so in 2023 I became a license massage therapist focusing on hospice massage to bring even more comfort to the ones we care for.
It has been a learning experience along the way but working alongside the same team I started with we have grown Parkhaven into a senior community that has deep roots here in the valley and continue daily to offer our residents excellent care focusing on independence, dignity and the right to live their lives as they choose.
Thank you to everyone who has trusted me to serve and care for your loved ones!
